Endorsements A parent on hearing about three successful auditions in the space of a week! “My first term at Redroofs has been awesome with so much going on and I ended it by getting a part in the BBC TV series Outnumbered. I love the show, it's really funny and couldn't believe it when Miss Rose called to tell me I'd been shortlisted for a part after the casting agency remembered me from a previous audition I'd had with them. I felt nervous when I met the writers especially when I told them that my experience till now had been as a munchkin at the Theatre Royal in Windsor but they just thought that was really funny and it made me start to giggle too. After that we chatted a bit more, played some games and then they asked me to get more and more intense about winning or losing at rock-paper-scissors. They didn't mind at all when at the end I got carried away after winning a game and did a victory dance and called one of the writers a 'loser.' I left the room feeling really happy and even if I hadn't been offered the part the next day it would still have been a fun experience. I can't wait to start filming later this year and am so grateful to Redroofs for all they are doing for me. I love going to school.” |

| General information Who can join the Agency? All Redroofs pupils may join the Agency. The Spotlight is an independent internet linked casting service used by casting directors and producers both nationally and abroad. Without an entry in The Spotlight, we are not able to offer your child for professional engagements. Photographs and cvs are updated annually and casting departments cross-reference our suggestions for parts before calling children to audition. Going to auditions The majority of auditions take place in London, at studios, or at our own school. Pupils are taken to auditions by parents or by our own licensed chaperones and the chaperones fee and expenses are divided between the children attending the audition. Parents are responsible for their own child's fares whether public transport, hired minibus, coach or chaperone's car is used. Chaperones are licensed by the Education Authority. Engagements It is sometimes possible for the parent to act as chaperone. Past experience has shown that children work better on set when accompanied by a chaperone rather than a parent and Chaperones are fully aware of laws pertaining to children in the industry. Chaperone fees on engagements are paid by the Studio or Management employing the child. Fees The school's commission is 15% of the gross rate. (The gross includes all spin off payments and residuals.) VAT is chargeable on commission. Further information is given to new pupils in September and is always available for parents via our office. |
